Seadrill has exercised an option to build a new ultra-deepwater dual derrick drillship at the Samsung yard in South Korea. Through its Trelleborg Engineered Systems business area, Trelleborg has signed an agreement to acquire a Brazil-based business in the offshore oil and gas industry from a subsidiary of Veyance Technologies Inc. The business focuses on specially designed oil hoses for surface and deep-sea offshore oil and gas extraction. Full text
Completions and sand control specialist Darcy has nearly trebled its operational space in a relocation move designed to support the company’s growth strategy. It has transferred to a new 10,000sq ft office and purpose designed workshop facility on Kintore Business Park in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, as part of a wider development plan that is expected to see its existing workforce double in number to more than 20 in 2011.
