CDL Open New Office in Brazil

2009.11.01 - Company News

CDL has announced the appointment of Roberto Prado Lopes as the new General Manager of CDL do Brasil, based initially in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The company will now operate from its new premises at Av. Beira Mar, 262/ sala 704 - centro Rio De Janeiro - RJ - CEP 20021-060 for the remainder of 2009 and into 2010.

The expansion into Brazil will bring two long term office locations for CDL do Brasil.  Firstly, a sales office in Rio De Janeiro followed by a service and repair facility in 2010 located in Macae. Both office locations are critical parts of the company's growth within the Americas region supporting the local market and its deeper water pre-salt challenges. The Macae growth office will have full calibration and repair workshop in an air-conditioned environment to offer temperature control during long calibration periods. Additionally, CDL do Brasil will offer product training and product support with the use of a team of locally based skilled engineers fully trained on the entire CDL product range.

Roberto will oversee and coordinate all sales and operations within Brazil as he holds a vast amount of experience in the Oil and Gas sector within the equipment supply arena and is well known within Brazil to be fast and responsive to enquiries and support issues. This is key to the way CDL and its subsidiaries undertake business to date and will continue in Brazil.

CDL Inc. President, Neil Manning, said, " I'm extremely excited about the opportunities and potential that CDL do Brasil offers, our product range is a natural fit for the challenges in exploration and subsea positioning with pre-salt and existing deeper field developments. CDL do Brasil is well placed to offer service and repair in this country which is one of the largest challenges for a multi-national company like CDL when opening a branch office such as this. We, CDL, feel we have a solid strategy by offering local repairs and support which is missing from the current equipment supply companies that operate in Brazil. I believe we have the start of a great team to make this a success. I have been given direction from our CEO, Colin Crichton, to focus every effort on Brazil to ensure it is a success. CDL is confident Roberto will be an asset in reaching these objectives, we are proud to have him on board and part of the team."
