Global Geo Services spin off seismic business into Spectrum ASA

The spin-off will create a new, independent, seismic company with headquarter outside London, UK. Spectrum`s activities comprise
acquisition, processing and selling of seismic data with a global perspective. GGS will after the spin-off focus on building and developing its tender-rig business.

Included in the transaction will be GGS` activities within seismic data processing currently operated within the subsidiaries Spectrum
UK and Spectrum US. Whilst the multi client surveys offshore Iran including PC 2000 will remain in GGS, all other multi client
activities will be part of the transaction, as well as the operation of the seismic vessel GGS Atlantic.

Rowan Companies, Inc. (NYSE:RDC) announced today that it has entered into contracts with Keppel AmFELS, Inc. for the construction of four Super 116E class jack-ups. The rigs will be built at AmFELS' Brownsville, Texas shipyard, with delivery scheduled at approximately four-month intervals beginning in the second quarter of 2010.
