InterMoor Continues to Chase New Business

2009.09.30 - Company News

With the sale of its 100th Permanent Chain Chaser (PCC), InterMoor is encouraged with the continuing signs of business growth in the offshore mooring installation and recovery market.

The InterMoor PCC is used to assist with installation and recovery of anchors from the seabed. With a lifting capacity of 150 tons, the PCC is used in some of the most extreme conditions around the world. Recent purchases have been from Canada, Singapore and West Africa.

The Permanent Chain Chaser is not a new concept in mooring installation and recovery, but InterMoor has used extensive Finite Element Analysis to enhance the chemical and mechanical properties that make up the world’s best-selling chain chaser.

Made and tested 100 percent in the UK, all 100 chain chasers have been subjected to a proof test of 300 tons prior to being used offshore.

“With the enhancement of the product, we at InterMoor are more than confident that this Chaser is the safest and most reliable chaser on the market today.  With more than 100 units sold in the past 24 months, the product’s quality and ability to work well offshore has made it a market leader,” said Alan Duncan, InterMoor Ltd MD. “That is something we are proud of.”

InterMoor is a leading supplier of mooring technology providing innovative solutions for rig moves, mooring services and subsea foundations including engineering and design; survey and positioning; fabrication; and subsea services.

Acteon is a group of specialist engineering companies serving the global oil and gas industry.
