NCS Survey Ltd and Halma PLC have signed Heads of Agreement to transfer the Survey Operations Department of Sonar Research and Development (SRD) to NCS Survey. This leaves SRD (a division of Tritech) to concentrate on the development and manufacture of 3D visualisation systems while NCS Survey will take on SRDs existing and future survey projects. Full text

Ashtead Technology has become ‘Approved Rental Agent’ for RSL NDT Ltd. As part of the agreement, Ashtead Technology have purchased RSL’s Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment hire fleet, consisting of Subsea MPI Systems, ROV FMD Systems, SCUMPI Systems, Underwater Thickness Gauges and Bathycorrometer kits, worth in excess of £300,000. Spectrum has completed a series of computer facility upgrades at its regional data processing and imaging centre in Houston, Texas that will increase capacity by 50%. The technology upgrades applied over the past 6 months will prepare Spectrum's largest computing facility for a scheduled increase in Multi-Client processing projects from Q4 2009 onwards. Full text
With the sale of its 100th Permanent Chain Chaser (PCC), InterMoor is encouraged with the continuing signs of business growth in the offshore mooring installation and recovery market.
The InterMoor PCC is used to assist with installation and recovery of anchors from the seabed. With a lifting capacity of 150 tons, the PCC is used in some of the most extreme conditions around the world. Recent purchases have been from Canada, Singapore and West Africa. Full text

Niche Products Ltd has just announced the commissioning of a 100,000 litre bulk storage silo in Aberdeen for the sole use of Pelagic 100 Subsea Control Fluid. In addition, a dedicated road tanker has been commissioned to transport bulk fluid from the Manchester Facility to Aberdeen.
