InterMoor's Lafayette Facility Receives ISO 9001:2000 Certification
InterMoor Inc., an Acteon company, has received ISO 9001:2000 certification for its subsea services facility in Lafayette, LA. This certifies InterMoor to perform a scope of work including engineering, design, fabrication, installation and servicing of subsea structures. With the addition of the Lafayette location, all of InterMoor’s facilities in the United States, United Kingdom and Brazil are now certified. Full text

Successful Qualification of Technology for Managed Pressure Drilling
Siem WIS AS, a company 60% owned by Siem Offshore, has announced a successful test and qualification of Siem WIS’ Pressure Control Device (PCD) technology together with Statoil’s control system for managed pressure drilling (MPD). Full text
Deepwater ROV Deployed Dredge Clears Subsea Sediments
When drilling operations for a major oil company’s Gulf of Mexico well were completed in depths greater than 2,000 msw, the sediment deposits had covered the subsea equipment, including the corrosion protection anodes. Using a 6-inch Oceaneering GTO Subsea AS ROV Dredge, several feet of silt deposits and drill cuttings were removed and the effectiveness of the anodes was quickly restored. Full text
Sensorlink Steps Up Marketing Initiative with Kentron Systems in Canada
Sensorlink, a leading provider of corrosion management solutions to the oil and gas industry, announced that it has entered into an agent agreement with Kentron Systems Inc. in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Kentron Systems will sell and distribute Sensorlink’s products for corrosion monitoring of pipelines and processing plants throughout Canada. Easytrak Nexus shines in Korea
Applied Acoustics’ Field Engineer Mark Eccleston is recently back from Korea where he lead a training course covering all operational aspects of the new Easytrak Nexus, the latest USBL tracking system from the company. KORDI, the Korean Maritime and Ocean Engineering Research Institute, purchased the system unit following comparative trials over the summer months and it was put through its paces in the waters of Geoje Bay, SW of Busan, this October.
