Helix Well Ops UK, a subsidiary of Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc, announced today that the newest addition to its global well intervention fleet, Well Enhancer, has successfully completed her inaugural well intervention project for Nexen Petroleum UK on the Buzzard S2 well in the North Sea, 60 miles east of Aberdeen. When drilling operations for a major oil company’s Gulf of Mexico well were completed in depths greater than 2,000 msw, the sediment deposits had covered the subsea equipment, including the corrosion protection anodes. Using a 6-inch Oceaneering GTO Subsea AS ROV Dredge, several feet of silt deposits and drill cuttings were removed and the effectiveness of the anodes was quickly restored. Full text
Sensorlink, a leading provider of corrosion management solutions to the oil and gas industry, announced that it has entered into an agent agreement with Kentron Systems Inc. in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Kentron Systems will sell and distribute Sensorlink’s products for corrosion monitoring of pipelines and processing plants throughout Canada.
