Viper Subsea, the Bristol based developer of class leading controls and distribution solutions and supplier of expert consultancy for the subsea oil and gas industries, is celebrating today after winning The New Enterprise Award at the prestigious Subsea UK Business Awards 2011.

The awards, now in their fifth year, are sponsored by Forum Energy Technologies and organised by Subsea UK - the industry body for the British subsea industry – and celebrate the excellence, innovation and exceptional achievements across the entire UK subsea supply chain. The award caps a successful exhibition at the annual Subsea UK event in Aberdeen, at which Viper Subsea unveiled its new V-LOCK® hydraulic stab plate.

“The exhibition has been incredible for us.” said Managing Director Neil Douglas. “Response to V-LOCK® has been phenomenal and there has been a great deal of interest in the company and our product and service offer.

“Of course we were crossing our fingers for the award, especially considering the calibre of competition, but we were surprised and delighted when we won. This is a great achievement for the company, and it speaks volumes about the quality and dedication of the team at Viper Subsea.”

The New Enterprise Award, sponsored by Technip UK, concentrates on businesses which are less than five years old. Feedback from the awards ceremony suggests that Viper Subsea’s considerable investment in research and development, as well as its strong forward looking business plan, impressed the judges. The company invests 30% of its turnover into Research & Development and considers it to be an investment in the sector and the future of the business. Viper Subsea was established to develop products and systems for the demands of tomorrow’s subsea industry.

Organisers of the Subsea UK Business Awards 2011 received a record number of entries this year, which serves as an illustration of the optimism and vibrancy of the subsea industry as it looks towards another year of growth. Viper Subsea is rapidly establishing a reputation as one of the industry’s brightest lights with the quality of its services, its experience and technical ability.
