Bergen-based specialist subsea service company DOF Subsea Norway has been awarded a contract for the provision of Complementary Offshore Geotechnical Survey by Shtokman Development AG. DOF Subsea will commence work in the Shtokman Gas Condensate field in early September utilising own vessel Geobay. The scope of work, consisting of offshore geotechnical survey, onshore testing and reporting, will be carried out in cooperation with PeterGaz Ltd. Full text

Finder has announced that it has entered into a farm-out agreement which provides for Apache to earn a 75% interest in Exploration Permit WA-450-P. The BGP Challenger is currently acquiring 2D long offset seismic data on behalf of Spectrum Multi-Client in the US Gulf of Mexico. The BGP Challenger, which was commissioned in early 2009 is currently acquiring Phase 4 of Spectrum’s extensive Big Wave Multi-Client programme in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Full text

TGS announces the commencement of a 1650 km2 high density multi-client 3D seismic survey located in the outer part of Moray Firth off the Northeast coast of Scotland. The survey covers open as well as held acreage and is located in an area proven to be particularly prolific for hydrocarbon exploration. This has been confirmed by recent discoveries including Golden Eagle, Hobby, Pink and Blackbird. Full text

This project, NVG10, covers a 3,500 km2 area in the North Viking Graben area of the Norwegian North Sea. The project is being acquired by the PGS Atlantic Explorer and utilizes PGS' GeoStreamer® Technology. ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Norway AS , operator of production license 028 S, has concluded the drilling of wildcat well 25/10-10. Det norske oljeselskap ASA carried out the drilling operations on behalf of ExxonMobil. The well is located immediately west of the Balder field. The well will now be permanently plugged and abandoned. Full text

Norwegian Energy Company ASA has become a 50% owner and operator for the licence PL396 in the Barents Sea. The transaction is based on an agreement with Discover Petroleum and does not involve payment. Partners in the licence are Discover Petroleum with 30% and Petoro with 20%. Full text
