Subsea development of Chevron's Jack and St Malo unfolding
Today at OTC, Chevron's Randall Kubota said to subsea industry sources that a FEED study for the subsea development of Jack and St Malo ultra-deep discoveries in the Gulf of Mexico will start in the near future. Kubota is Chevrons subsea general manager. The development concept is not yet determined. Full text
North Sea Morvin subsea development approved
StatoilHydro’s Plan for Development and Operation (PDO) of the Morvin field was approved today, Friday 25 April. This is the first PDO approved in the merged StatoilHydro. The Morvin development concept will include two subsea templates tied in to Åsgard B for processing through a 20-kilometre pipeline. Full text
ENI with new discovery in North Sea
The well is located in the offshore licence PL293, at a water depth of 373 metres in the Norwegian North Sea, some 165 km West of Bergen. Eni is operator of the project with an equity stake of 45%. Other partners in the project are StatoilHydro (40%) and Idemitsu (15%). Full text
PA Resources spu Benita well offshore Equatorial Guinea
The drilling of an appraisal well has commenced on the Benita discovery located in Block I in Equatorial Guinea. Results from the drilling are expected to be available in the late second or early third quarter 2008. Full text
Det norske discovery on Draupne may open other prospects
Det norske oljeselskap ASA (`DETNOR`) has discovered oil and gas on Draupne (Production License 001B). Det norske has a 35% interest in the license. Det norske believes this to be a commercial discovery.

TGS Acquires data for shallow and deepwater offshore Somaliland
TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company (TGS) announced today that it has completed acquisition of two new multi-client programs in Somaliland. Offshore, TGS has acquired approximately 5,100 kilometers of 2D seismic, gravity, and magnetic data covering both shallow and deep water areas. Full text
Apache Julimar and Halyard discovery wells of Australia hits
Apache Corporation (NYSE, Nasdaq: APA) announced today that the Julimar Southeast-1 discovery on Australia's Northwest Shelf logged 195 feet of net pay across five intervals of the Triassic Mungaroo Sandstone. It is believed that the ultimate size of this gas accumulation could be in the range of 2 to 4 trillion cubic feet. Full text
Lundin mobilize for drilling Morskaya in Caspian Sea
Lundin Petroleum AB said that it has started mobilisation and installation of the marine drilling complex that will drill the Morskaya-1 exploration well in the Lagansky block, situated in the northern Caspian Sea. Lundin Petroleum has currently a 70 percent net interest in the Lagansky block. Full text
Santos Reindeer Project Offshore West Australia Sanctioned
Santos today announced the Final Investment Decision for the Reindeer Gas Project located offshore Western Australia. The Reindeer gas field was discovered in 1997 and is located in the Carnarvon Basin, offshore Western Australia within exploration permit WA-209-P. Front End Engineering and Design studies (FEED) for development of the Reindeer gas field were completed in Q4 2007. Full text
