Noreco sells gas discovery
Norwegian Energy Company (Noreco) has entered into an agreement to sell its 20 percent share of license PL435 on Haltenbanken to OMV (Norge) AS. License PL435 contains the gas discovery Zidane-1 which was made in 2010. This discovery is estimated to contain between 5 and 18 billion standard cubic metres of recoverable gas. The second exploration well in the license is named Zidane-2 and is planned to be drilled later this year. Full text
Eni announces a giant gas discovery offshore Mozambique
Eni announces a giant natural gas discovery at the Mamba South 1 prospect, in the Area 4 Offshore Mozambique. The discovery well encountered a total of 212 meters of continuous gas pay in high-quality Oligocene sands. Full text

Ancap signed contract with Fugro for Uruguay’ offshore survey
Uruguay state-run oil company ANCAP signed a contract with the international company Fugro for the provision of geophysical services covering a complete aero-magnetic survey of Pelotas, Punta del Este and Oriental del Plata offshore basins. It is expected that after signed the contract with Fugro, the acquisition and processing of the aero magnetic data will last around six months. Full text
Small oil discovery south of the Alvheim field in the North Sea
Marathon Petroleum Norge AS, operator of production licence 340 BS, has completed drilling of wildcat well 24/9-10 S and appraisal well 24/9-10 A. The wells were drilled about 30 kilometres south of the production ship on the Alvheim field in the mid-North Sea. Full text
Dry well south of the Snøhvit field in the Barents Sea
Statoil Petroleum AS, operator of production licence 488, has completed the drilling of wildcat well 7119/12-4. The well was drilled about 145 kilometres northwest of Hammerfest and about 40 kilometres south of the 7120/8-1 Askeladd gas deposit, which is part of the Snøhvit development. Full text

Statoil Petroleum AS, operator of production licence 303, has completed the drilling of wildcat well 15/6-12, located about 12 kilometres north of Sleipner Vest in the central part of the North Sea. Full text
Chevron Announces Further Natural Gas Find in Australia
Chevron Corp. (NYSE:CVX) today announced a further drilling success in the Carnarvon Basin offshore Western Australia, Australia's premier hydrocarbon basin. The Orthrus-2 well is located in the WA-24-R permit area approximately 60 miles (100 kilometers) northwest of Barrow Island. The well was drilled to a total depth of 14,098 feet (4,297 meters). Small oil discovery southeast of the Grane field in the North Sea
Norwegian Energy Company ASA (Noreco), operator of production licence 545, is in the process of completing the drilling of wildcat well 17/6-1. The well was drilled approximately 100 kilometres southeast of the Grane field in the central part of the North Sea. Full text
