Australia’s Largest Non‐Exclusive Seismic 3D Reprocessing Project

Searcher Seismic Pty Ltd is pleased to announce the largest non‐exclusive seismic 3D reprocessing project ever undertaken in Australia. The project is carried out in conjunction with Fugro whom is also processing the 3D data with state of the art processing techiques in their Perth centre. A full suite of gathers and offset stacks suitable for AVO analysis will also be produced. The project will cover a significant portion of the prolific Barrow sub basin on the NW Shelf of Australia with 6 surveys beingreprocessed, integrated, phase‐matched and combined into one seamless 8,336sq.km 3D Data Cube. Searcher Seismic Managing Director Odd Larsen comments, “This is a unique opportunity to combine and vastly improve the historical 3D data sets from the Barrow region to the industry’s benefit. We look forward to the challenges of such a large project in developing the Barrow 3D Ultracube.” The Barrow 3D UltraCube is expected to be fully complete by early 2010, with the first areas within the Cube being completed and ready for delivery in March 2009.
PA Resources AB has signed an agreement with the shareholders to acquire the entire share capital of the British oil exploration company Scotsdale Ltd. The company is focusing on low risk exploration in North West Europe. The acquisition means that PA Resources increases its presence in the North Sea with licenses in the United Kingdom and Denmark, and potentially also in the Netherlands.
Aker Exploration has entered into agreements with the international oil company Eni Norge to acquire ownership interests in two licenses in the vicinity of the Åsgard field. The agreements further strengthen Aker Exploration’s position in the Norwegian Sea.
SCAN Geophysical ASA (SCAN) today announced that the company is
remobilising its seismic vessel, M/V Geo Searcher, to re-commence a previously-suspended
2D project offshore Pakistan for BP.
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted ENI Norge AS a drilling permit for wellbore 34/12-1 in the North Sea.
Eni has successfully drilled the last appraisal well, encountered approximately 127 metres (419 ft) of net pay in multiple sands. The initial analysis indicates good reservoir quality.
