The presence of oil and gas in the Pan/Pandora prospect has been proven by StatoilHydro. The find is located south of the Visund field in the North Sea and represents the group’s 20th find in 2008. Dalmatian Deepwater Discovery to be subsea tieback

Mariner Energy, Inc. today announced a deepwater discovery at its Dalmatian prospect located on De Soto Canyon Block 48. The well, which lies in water depths of nearly 5,900 feet, encountered approximately 120 feet (net measured depth) / 57 feet (net true vertical depth) of high quality, dry natural gas pay. Plans are to develop the well as a subsea tieback to existing infrastructure in the area. Full text

EnCore Oil today announce that well testing operations on the East Breagh well 42/13-4 (‘the well’) have been completed. Incorporation of the well results into EnCore’s current mapping suggests that this accumulation has the potential to become one of the larger discoveries of recent years in the Southern North Sea.
