A/S Norske Shell has completed the drilling of appraisal well 6305/4-2 S on the Ormen Lange field. The well, which was drilled about 12 kilometres northwest of the field's main production area, was dry. Well 6305/4-2 S is the eight exploration well to be drilled on the Ormen Lange field. Full text

Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) today confirmed discoveries within the Moho-Bilondo license in the Republic of the Congo. The Bilondo Marine 2 and 3 wells are located approximately 40 miles (70 kilometers) offshore of the Republic of the Congo, in 2,600 feet (800 meters) of water in the central part of the Moho-Bilondo license. Maersk Oil awarded Avaldsnes licence in Norway

Maersk Oil announces it has been awarded a licence in the Norwegian North Sea as a result of the latest APA Licensing Round. The licence is a geographical extension of Licence PL501, where operator Lundin and partners Statoil and Maersk Oil made the recent Avaldsnes discovery, into blocks 16/3 and 16/6. The licence holding structure remains the same in this extension; Lundin with 40%, Statoil with 40% and Maersk Oil with 20%. Full text

TGS Announces its First Multi-client 3D Survey in Indonesia

TGS will commence a new multi-client 3D survey in the Tarakan Basin, offshore East Kalimantan, Indonesia in the Celebes Sea. The survey, TBN10, is the first ever multi-client 3D survey for TGS in Indonesia waters and will cover in excess of 1,600 km2. The data will be acquired by the M/V Seisquest and will commence before the end of this year, with acquisition expected to complete in Q1 2011. Full text
