TGS announces the commencement of a 1650 km2 high density multi-client 3D seismic survey located in the outer part of Moray Firth off the Northeast coast of Scotland. The survey covers open as well as held acreage and is located in an area proven to be particularly prolific for hydrocarbon exploration. This has been confirmed by recent discoveries including Golden Eagle, Hobby, Pink and Blackbird. Full text
This project, NVG10, covers a 3,500 km2 area in the North Viking Graben area of the Norwegian North Sea. The project is being acquired by the PGS Atlantic Explorer and utilizes PGS' GeoStreamer® Technology. ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Norway AS , operator of production license 028 S, has concluded the drilling of wildcat well 25/10-10. Det norske oljeselskap ASA carried out the drilling operations on behalf of ExxonMobil. The well is located immediately west of the Balder field. Norwegian Energy Company ASA has become a 50% owner and operator for the licence PL396 in the Barents Sea. The transaction is based on an agreement with Discover Petroleum and does not involve payment. Partners in the licence are Discover Petroleum with 30% and Petoro with 20%. Full text

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation today announced the Windjammer exploration well in the frontier Rovuma Basin offshore Mozambique has reached an intermediate casing point and encountered more than 480 net feet of natural gas pay in high quality reservoir sands, with a gross column of more than 1,200 feet. To date, this well has tested one of the seven identified play types in Anadarko's operated acreage offshore Mozambique. Full text

Det norske oljeselskap ASA, operator of PL 476, has completed drilling of exploration well 6507/11-10 6507/11-10 Frusalen. The well was dry, and was located 5.5 km east of the Midgard Field. The objective was to test the hydrocarbon potential of Middle- and Lower Jurassic reservoir rocks (Fangst- and Båt Groups). Full text
