Lundin Petroleum has announced that drilling of exploration well 16/4-5 on the Luno High prospect in the Greater Luno Area has commenced. The well in PL359 is located 9 km south of the Luno field on the southern Utsira High in the North Sea. Full text
TGS has commenced acquisition of the next phase of 3D projects offshore Liberia. This newest project covers Liberia blocks 8 and 9 and totals 5,000 kms2. The MV Polarcus Nadia will acquire the project and TGS will apply advanced pre-stack time and pre-stack depth imaging techniques to create the final subsurface image. Full text

The Acheron 2D Non-Exclusive seismic survey is operated by Searcher Seismic in conjunction with its project partner Seabird Exploration. The project acquired approximately 2,700 km of 2D seismic data over an unexplored Cretaceous - Jurassic Rift basin lying immediately to the west of the Bernier Ridge. Full text

ExxonMobil E&P Norway AS (ExxonMobil), the operator of Production License 027D, is about to conclude the drilling of exploration well 25/8-17 and the appraisal well 25/8-17A. Det norske oljeselskap ASA (Det norske) has carried out the drilling on behalf of ExxonMobil. The wells are situated approx. four kilometers south of the Jotun Field in the North Sea. Full text

Total announces that they and Sonangol have discovered oil on Block 17/06, in the deep waters of the Angolan offshore. Gardenia-1 is the first well and the first discovery made on Block 17/06. It was drilled in a water depth of 977 meters. The well discovered hydrocarbon reservoirs, both in the Miocene and the Oligocene. Full text
