StatoilHydro has struck gas during the drilling of a sidetrack on the Fulla prospect ten kilometres northeast of the Frigg field in the North Sea.Earlier this year an exploration well on the same prospect encountered small volumes of gas. The combined volumes proven through the two wells are estimated at between 63 and 107 million barrels of oil equivalent. Full text

StatoilHydro has reached agreement with BPC Limited to become the operator of three offshore exploration licences, Zapata, Islamorada and Falcones in the Cay Sal area of the south-western Bahamas. Full text

RWE Dea AG has reached an agreement with Fairfield Energy to farm-in to the undeveloped gas field Clipper South in the Southern British North Sea. Under the terms of the agreement, RWE Dea will acquire a 50% equity in part of blocks 48/19a, 48/19c and 48/20a. The Clipper South Field is located in the Sole Pit Basin in the Southern North Sea within the Rotliegend tight-gas play fairway. Full text

More oil and gas have been discovered by StatoilHydro with an exploration well drilled about 35 kilometres east of Gudrun in the North Sea and roughly 30 kilometres south of Grane. More detailed studies of collected well data will be needed to evaluate the resources and determine further activity around the discovery. Full text

Total announced today positive results for the Moho Nord Marine-4 (MHNM-4) well, approximately 75 kilometres offshore of the Republic of Congo, in a water depth of 1,078 metres in the northern part of the Moho-Bilondo license. The discovery follows on from the Moho Nord Marine-1 and 2 finds in 2007 and the positive delineation well of Moho Nord Marine-3 (MHNM-3) in 2008. Full text

Field Development -
Drilling of the exploration well Gygrid in PL348, 10km west of Draugen Field in the Norwegian Sea has started. The well is being drilled by the rig Seadrill West Alpha, and the well is being operated by StatoilHydro. Results are expected in June. The Gygrid prospect is situated in a very interesting license in a prolific hydrocarbon province with infrastructure in place. Full text
