Eni started up subsea gas production in North Bardawil field, within the North Bardawil Concession, located in the Mediterranean offshore of Egypt. The expected maximum production rate will be 2.7 million scm per day, approximately 17,000 boe/day, of which about 6,000 boe/day as Eni equity share. Full text
Santos today announced that the Burnside-1ST1 exploration well in permit WA-281-P in the Browse Basin offshore Western Australia has encountered a 65 metre gross gas column in the primary target, the Brewster Sandstone. Further work will be done to determine the commercial significance of the discovery. Full text
Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: APC) today announced a discovery at the Vito exploration well in Mississippi Canyon block 984. The well encountered more than 250 net feet of oil pay in subsalt Miocene sands. The Vito well was drilled to a total depth of approximately 32,000 feet in 4,038 feet of water, using the Noble Amos Runner deepwater drilling rig. Full text
Gas has been proven by StatoilHydro in exploration well 6507/3-7 Idun North in the Norwegian Sea. Currently being completed, the well is located two kilometres northwest of the Idun find and 12 kilometres north of the Skarv find. Full text
BP and SOCAR (the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan) announced today they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly explore and develop the Shafag and Asiman structures in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea. Full text
Repsol has made two new offshore oil discoveries in the Spanish Mediterranean. The Montanazo D-5 and Lubina-1 wells are located 45 kilometres from the coast of Tarragona, where the company is developing similar satellite fields. Full text
Valiant Petroleum plc today announced that first oil from the Don Southwest field has been achieved and the two production wells are on-stream. Valiant holds a 40% interest in Don Southwest, through a wholly owned subsidiary, which sits in UKCS Licence P.236, Block 211/18a and is operated by Petrofac Energy Developments Limited. Full text
Anadarko Petroleum Corporation today provided update activities. Anadarko announced a Miocene discovery at the Samurai prospect in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico in Green Canyon block 432. The discovery well, located approximately 12 miles north of the Marco Polo platform, encountered more than 120 feet of net oil pay in several high-quality sands. Full text
A small oil discovery has been made by StatoilHydro in the Titan prospect directly east of northern Visund in the Tampen area of the Norwegian North Sea. Full text
Det norske oljeselskap ASA, operator Talisman Energy and partner Petoro has discovered between 40 million and 130 million barrels of oil in the Grevling prospect in PL 038D. The appraisal well shows that the discovery is larger than first anticipated. Full text
