The Clipper South Field is located in the Sole Pit Basin in the Southern North Sea within the Rotliegend tight-gas play fairway. RWE Dea UK will take operatorship to develop the field holding a total gas volume estimated to be about 12 billion cubic metres.

The field is located northeast of the Anglia Field in which RWE Dea holds a non-operated interest of 12.2%. For the field development up to 6 horizontal multi-fractured wells from a single platform are planned. First gas is expected in 2011.

“The farm-in to Clipper South consolidates our acreage position in the UK, and is another important step in the RWE Dea strategy to increase our UK gas production”, says René Pawel, General Manager of RWE Dea UK. “Clipper South is near to our core activities in the Southern North Sea and fits perfectly into our existing North Sea assets.”
