OTT and Scanmudring join forces on subsea bag technology
Onsite Treatment Technologies (OTT) and Scan Mudring signed a joint development agreement on April 3rd 2009. Through this new alliance the companies will offer “Integrated services” based on the additional technological flexibility and increase the operational offshore work force size.
The alliance combines the benefit of extensive experience and competence of Scan Mudring with the new OTT subsea bag technology which has been in the pipeline for awhile, and the complementary competence found in OTT. OTT competence covers cutting edge mud and drill cuttings management. The combined skills will help improve the offshore Oil and Gas industry’s efforts to mitigate impacts from drilling operations. Both companies specialize in subsea technologies related to handling of seabed solids.
Scan Mudring specializes in dredging, near well bore debris collection, rockdump and drillcuttings removal, leveling of seabed, pipeline burial and so forth. The addition of the newly developed bag technology of OTT to the tool case expands the technological capability of the alliance to include real-time collection of drill cuttings (top whole sections), control of drill cuttings influence area, secure confinement of drill cuttings, and improve site cleaning effect. The complete systems offered meets the industry’s need to reduce cost and environmental impacts, and takes the zero discharge ambition one step further.
