StatoilHydro has assigned the management of its technology corporate venture activities to a special purpose company, Energy Capital Management AS. Helix Well Ops said today that its Well Ops Asia Pacific team based in Perth, Western Australia recently set a new world depth record for subsea wireline intervention from a monohull vessel by retrieving tubing hanger plugs from two subsea wells located approximately 25 m (82 ft) apart in 392 m (1,286 ft) of water. New Zealand’s rights over the Continental Shelf sea floor around its coast have been officially extended by 1.7 million sq km or 42% greater than covered by the 200 nautical mile-wide EEZ area.
