The awards in the 20th licensing round comprise 9 new production licenses in the Barents Sea and 12 new production licenses in the Norwegian Sea. The Government puts great weight on important environmental and fisheries concerns. The conditions relating to environmental and fisheries concerns has therefore been strenghtened. Cobalt International Energy, L.P. and Sonangol, E.P. today jointly announced the formation of a major partnership in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico and the deepwater offshore Angola. Cobalt will assign 25% of its working interest in 11 Gulf of Mexico deepwater leases to the U.S. subsidiary of Sonangol P&P, Sonangol Exploration and Production International Ltd. Full text

Previously the owner of 51%, Inocean has bought up the remaining 49% of shares in Anchor Contracting (AC). Whereas Inocean has focused its activities on design and engineering of floating offshore constructions, particularly the FPSO market, Anchor Contracting has its niche in the subsea market as an EPC supplier of foundations for riser support and mooring systems for floating offshore constructions.
