Technip has been awarded by Nautilus Minerals Singapore Pte Ltd. a services contract for a riser and lifting system for the Solwara 1 subsea mining operation. The contract covers engineering and project management services for the delivery and commissioning of all components including the subsea pump, riser*, surface handling system and ancillary equipment. Subsea 7 and Richtech International Holding Inc, a Chinese engineering consultancy, today announced formation of a joint venture company to provide subsea front-end engineering and design (FEED), detailed design, integrity management and engineering consulting services to operators. Eni and Angola's Sonangol E.P. made an important oil discovery in the deepwaters of Block 15/06, located some 350 km north of Luanda, in the Angolan offshore. Eni is Operator of Block 15/06. The exploration well (called Sangos 1) which led to the discovery has been drilled at a water depth of 1,349 metres and to a total depth of 3,343 metres. Full text

The oil is now flowing from subsea template number three on the Vigdis East structure in the North Sea, adding 16 million barrels of oil to the Vigdis production. The 4-slot subsea template was installed in the summer of 2006 Full text

More than 50 guests turned out for the start of the world’s first full-scale subsea compression test at StatoilHydro’s Kårstø Laboratory (K-lab) at the Kårstø gas processing plant in western Norway on 21 April. StatoilHydro has a number of fields that could utilise subsea compression. Full text

StatoilHydro has made a large gas discovery in the Natalia prospect in the Norwegian Sea. According to preliminary calculations the discovery could contain around 1.5 billion cubic metres of recoverable gas. Full text

StatoilHydro will, together with Chevron and Petrobras, develop a new compact deep-water separation plant that will work in 2500-3000 meters. Known technology elements will be assembled in an entirely new way. The new separation equipment will be far lighter and smaller than the existing solutions. Full text
