Technip was awarded by Valiant Causeway Limited a lump sum contract, worth approximately €33 million, for the Causeway field development. This field is located about 450 kilometers North-east of Aberdeen, Scotland at a water depth of 150 metres. Full text

GC Rieber Shipping has signed a two year contract for its second subsea newbuild with the Mexican company Oceanografia. The vessel, which will be named "Polar Queen", has recently been handed over from the Spanish shipyard Freire Shipyard, and the contract will start up in November. Full text

Fairmount Marine’s powerful tug Fairmount Glacier has successfully assisted in the installation of the floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) Usan, offshore Nigeria. For this operation Fairmount was contracted by Saipem Energies, which needed a 200 ton bollard pull tug for this job. Full text

Oceaneering Umbilical Solutions, the Rosyth–based deepwater cable manufacturer arm of Oceaneering Inc., the global oilfield services provider, has established a Joint Industry Project (JIP) with Norwegian company, Marintek, to pioneer a predictive stress analysis tool designed to transform the performance and longevity of deepwater umbilicals. Begun in December 2007, development of the Pazflor oil field 150 kilometers offshore Angola is one of the biggest projects currently operated by Total. A number of technological challenges — including subsea gas/liquid separation, a world first — are being met to bring the field on stream successfully. Full text

GE (NYSE: GE) is pleased to announce that another significant milestone has been reached in its strategic acquisition of Wellstream Holdings PLC. This morning, Wellstream announced that the listing of its ordinary shares (“Wellstream’s Shares”) on the Official List had been cancelled and Wellstream’s shares ceased to be admitted to trading on the London Stock Exchange as of 8 a.m. (London time). Cameron Subsea Systems has signed a non-exclusive Global Agreement with BP for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Operational Support for Subsea Production Systems. The Global Agreement recognizes that the alignment of standards, specifications and processes and the introduction of product standardization, will optimize the use of resources, shorten execution cycles, optimize life cycle cost and deliver superior long term value.
