Wavefield Inseis new 3D seismic vessel M/V Geowave Endeavour is delivered from the yard. The vessel mobilised for their first large 3D contract with oil and gas major BG Norge on July 28th and the vessel was fully operational and in steady production on August 6th with 10 solid streamers of 6km length. Sonangol E.P., has authorised BP and its co-venturers to develop a series of deepwater oil discoveries in offshore Angola's Block 31. The first project in the programme will comprise the Plutão, Saturno, Vênus and Marte (PSVM) fields which lie in the north east sector of Block 31, in a water depth of approximately 2000m. Full text

Subsea 7 today, in relation to its 2Q release, provides an update on its worldwide subsea operation. Activity levels is high the and operational performance is reported good in all regions. Subsea UK commissioned the build of a large-scale, portable aquarium for highlighting subsea technologies and brought it to the city of Aberdeen for its debut. With support funding from its members, Subsea UK showcased the aptly named “Subsea Aquatheatre” at the ‘Energise your Future’ event in Aberdeen’s Exhibition and Conference Centre on the 26th June.

FMC Technologies said today that it has signed a five-year agreement with ConocoPhillips Scandinavia AS for the supply of subsea equipment and services for a water injection development in the Ekofisk field. The development is a replacement of the existing Ekofisk 2/4 W injection platform at the southern part of the Ekofisk Complex. Full text

ShawCor today said its subsidiary, Bredero Shaw, has received a contract with a value in excess of $30 million from Subsea 7 to provide Thermotite® coatings for StatoilHydro’s Vega offshore project in the North Sea. To facilitate a project specific requirement, a new ID blasting facility will be installed at Orkanger capable of handling pipes from 6” to 20”. Full text

Aker Solutions has been awarded a contract worth approximately USD 65 million for the delivery of a complete subsea production system to Eni's Oyo field development offshore Nigeria. The fast-track project is of strategic importance for Aker Solutions' developments in West Africa.
