Sonangol and Maersk Oil Angola AS (operator), have successfully completed drilling of the Chissonga-1 exploration well with positive results. The Chissonga-1 well is located in the western sector of Block 16 in 1,230 metres water depth, some 315 kilometres northwest of Luanda, and was drilled to a total depth of 4,725 metres using the Larsen Deep Venture drillship. This season marks the 10th consecutive year of new data acquisition by TGS in Greenland. GE Oil & Gas, a world leading company in oil and gas advanced technology equipment and services, has been awarded a contract worth over $70 million by StatoilHydro to upgrade a suite of subsea control systems for StatoilHydro’s Tordis Vigdis Controls Modification (TVCM) project. The solution will incorporate GE’s award-winning next-generation subsea electronics module - the VetcoGray SemStar5. Full text

FMC Technologies announced today that it will support the Jubilee Integrated Project Team (IPT) – consisting of Kosmos Energy (technical operator), Anadarko Petroleum and Tullow Oil & Gas (unit operator) - with the design and manufacture of subsea production systems for use in the Jubilee deepwater development. The award is expected to result in $210 million in revenue to FMC Technologies. Full text

GE Oil & Gas announced today that its drilling & production business has been awarded a three-year frame agreement valued at more than $250 million to supply 250 VetcoGray subsea wellhead systems to Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) of Brazil, an integrated oil and gas company. In terms of number of wellheads, this is the largest contract awarded to date in the industry. Full text
