Heerema Vlissingen, one of the three construction yards of Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) in Zwijndrecht, has delivered the giant template for the Tombua Landana platform. The template and the piles, the longest ever built, have been loaded from the construction quay in Vlissingen on a seagoing barge for transport to Angola, West Africa. Full text

Schlumberger (NYSE:SLB) announced today that it has acquired an additional 5.5% in Framo Engineering AS ("Framo") to take its holding to a majority 52.75%. Frank Mohn AS, which has been instrumental in the development of Framo to become a world leader within its main product groups, continues to hold the remaining shares. Full text

Aker Kvaerner has signed a frame agreement with Woodside Petroleum Ltd to become the Australian oil and gas giant`s preferred supplier of steel tube umbilicals. The contract could be worth between NOK 150 - 200 million annually. Full text

Total announces a new oil discovery in the ultra-deep offshore Mer Très Profonde Sud (MTPS) block, which lies approximately 185 kilometres offshore the Republic of the Congo in a water depth of 2,120 metres. Full text

BP, on behalf of the Shah Deniz partnership, announced today a further major new gas-condensate discovery in the Shah Deniz field in the Caspian Sea. The SDX-04 appraisal and exploration well, some 70 kilometres south east of Baku, discovered a new high pressure reservoir in a deeper structure below the currently producing reservoir. Full text
