Maria discovery one of the largest findings in 2010

Wintershall Holding GmbH announces a discovery at the Maria prospect in production licence 475BS in the Norwegian Sea about 200 kilometers off the coast of Trondheim. The well proved light oil and was drilled on the Halten terrace, near the Tyrihans and Åsgard fields. The size of the discovery is estimated between 60 and 120 million barrels of recoverable resources, placing it among the largest oil discoveries in Norway in this year. Full text

FMC Technologies announced today that it will support the Jubilee Integrated Project Team (IPT) – consisting of Kosmos Energy (technical operator), Anadarko Petroleum and Tullow Oil & Gas (unit operator) - with the design and manufacture of subsea production systems for use in the Jubilee deepwater development. GE Oil & Gas Wins Contract to Supply 250 Subsea Wellhead Systems for Petrobras

GE Oil & Gas announced today that its drilling & production business has been awarded a three-year frame agreement valued at more than $250 million to supply 250 VetcoGray subsea wellhead systems to Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) of Brazil, an integrated oil and gas company. In terms of number of wellheads, this is the largest contract awarded to date in the industry. Full text
