Giant Tombua Landana template on its way to Africa

Heerema Vlissingen, one of the three construction yards of Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) in Zwijndrecht, has delivered the giant template for the Tombua Landana platform. The template and the piles, the longest ever built, have been loaded from the construction quay in Vlissingen on a seagoing barge for transport to Angola, West Africa. Full text

Schlumberger (NYSE:SLB) announced today that it has acquired an additional 5.5% in Framo Engineering AS ("Framo") to take its holding to a majority 52.75%. BP Annonce Major Gas Discovery Offshore Azerbaijan

BP, on behalf of the Shah Deniz partnership, announced today a further major new gas-condensate discovery in the Shah Deniz field in the Caspian Sea. The SDX-04 appraisal and exploration well, some 70 kilometres south east of Baku, discovered a new high pressure reservoir in a deeper structure below the currently producing reservoir. Full text
