Petrobras announced that it has concluded its analysis of the formation tests for the second well in the area referred to as Tupi in Block BM-S-11, located in Santos Basin. Petrobras estimates volumes of recoverable oil and natural gas is between 5 and 8 billion barrels. Full text

Total announces that the Thai authorities have approved the extension for ten years of the production period for Bongkot, the largest gas field in Thailand. Bongkot consists of Blocks B15, B16, and B17. With the extension, the Joint Venture partners are entitled to continue to produce gas and condensate from Block B15 until 2022 and from Blocks B16 and B17 until 2023. Full text

FMC Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:FTI) today reported third quarter 2007 revenue of $1.1 billion, up 22 percent over the third quarter of 2006 led by the strength of its subsea systems business. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations were $0.60, up 46 percent from $0.41 per diluted share in the prior-year quarter. Full text

Petrobras Americas Inc. has awarded Aker Kvaerner a contract to supply subsea power cables and control umbilicals to its Cascade and Chinook fields in the Gulf of Mexico.
