Eni Norge AS has declined the proposed Aker Solutions, Aibel, Samsung Heavy Industries consortium to participate in the tendering process for the Goliat FPSO. Aker Solutions is of the opinion that this is the best delivery model for us for the chosen Goliat concept. Full text
Chevron Corporation announced today that its subsidiary Chevron Brasil Upstream Frade Ltda. has commenced crude oil production from the Frade Field, the company's first operated deepwater development in Brazil. The estimated USD 3 billion project, with continuing development drilling, is expected to achieve peak production of 90,000 barrels of crude oil and natural gas liquids per day in 2011. Full text

Today the completed 1150 tonnes heavy Ormen Lange subsea template was loaded out on a barge at Grenland Group’s construction yard in Tønsberg. The enormous 44 m x 33 m x 15 m subsea station will soon be towed out for installation at 850 meters depth in the southern part of the Ormen Lange field in the Norwegian Sea ,120 km northwest of Kristiansund.
