The Tyrihans subsea field in the Norwegian Sea is making a considerable contribution to Statoil’s production on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS). The field will be officially opened at a ceremony in Trondheim on Thursday 24 March. The field consists of Tyrihans South, a gas-capped oil field, and Tyrihans North, a gas and condensate field with thin oil zone. Full text

Aker Solutions' wholly-owned subsidiary STEP Offshore has delivered a drilling fluid and well control system to Rolls-Royce Marine, which will be used on the Yme field in the North Sea. The Aker Solutions unit made a fast and efficient delivery of an ultra compact skid mounted system for drilling fluid circulation and well control to the customer. Full text

InterMoor, an Acteon company, has successfully completed the installation of two subsea trees for LLOG Exploration Company in the Gulf of Mexico, announced InterMoor President Tom Fulton. The subsea trees were installed at the Mississippi Canyon (MC) Block 199 in a water depth of 2,460 ft. The trees, weighing 90 kips (45 tons) each, were installed on the two existing well locations. Fairmount Marine’s powerful tugs Fairmount Sherpa and Fairmount Summit have delivered FPSO Skarv Idun in the port of Stord, Norway. The two tugs needed just 92 days for the long distance tow of about 15.300 nautical miles from Samsung Heavy Industries’ shipyard in Okpo, South Korea. Full text
