The Tyrihans subsea field in the Norwegian Sea is making a considerable contribution to Statoil’s production on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS). The field will be officially opened at a ceremony in Trondheim on Thursday 24 March. The field consists of Tyrihans South, a gas-capped oil field, and Tyrihans North, a gas and condensate field with thin oil zone. Full text
Aker Solutions' wholly-owned subsidiary STEP Offshore has delivered a drilling fluid and well control system to Rolls-Royce Marine, which will be used on the Yme field in the North Sea. InterMoor, an Acteon company, has successfully completed the installation of two subsea trees for LLOG Exploration Company in the Gulf of Mexico, announced InterMoor President Tom Fulton. The subsea trees were installed at the Mississippi Canyon (MC) Block 199 in a water depth of 2,460 ft. The trees, weighing 90 kips (45 tons) each, were installed on the two existing well locations.
