StatoilHydro add production to Oseberg area from satellites

StatoilHydro today said that the development of the Oseberg area in the North Sea continues. Oseberg Delta and Theta Cook, which have now come on stream, add considerable production value. When well number two on Oseberg Delta comes on line in the autumn, another 7,000 barrels per day will be added. Full text

Blane partner Roc Oil update progress on water injection drilling

One of the partners in the Blane field in the North Sea, Roc oil, today updated on the progress. The Diamond Offshore semi-submersible drilling rig Ocean Princess is currently on location. The well be completed late April 2008.

 

ROC’s wholly owned subsidiary, Roc Oil (GB) Limited, advises that the "Ocean Princess" rig is currently on location to drill a water injection well to provide pressure support to the two active producing wells. The forward programme is to run a test tool and pressure test prior to drilling ahead. The well is expected to be completed towards the end of April 2008.

Petrobras start production on deep water field

The Piranema field, 25 km off the coast of Sergipe, started producing oil this Wednesday (10/10), in deep Northeastern Brazil waters. With operations going online in this field, Petrobras is taking another step towards maintaining Brazil’s oil self-sufficiency. The Piranema oil, of excellent quality, at 44º API, is the lightest oil produced in deep waters in Brazil.

ExxonMobil Announces Startup of Marimba North Project Offshore Angola

Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) announced today that its subsidiary, Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15) Limited, has started production from the Marimba North project, designed to develop 80 million barrels of oil in approximately 3,900 feet (1,300 meters) of water more than 90 miles (145 kilometers) off the coast of Angola.
