Petrobras kicks off Campos Basin Platform P-53

Platform P-53, the first production unit installed in the Marlim Leste field, in the Campos Basin, kicked-off its operations yesterday (11/30). More than just a new oil and gas production unit, this platform represents a major victory for the Brazilian naval industry. Full text

BP start production from Taurt subsea development in Egypt

BP Egypt, on behalf of its joint venture partner, Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO), announced that gas production from the Taurt field started at the beginning of July.
The Taurt field is located in Ras El Bar concession, 70 kilometres offshore in the northeast of Port Said, West Nile Delta.
The parties to Ras El Bar Offshore Concession agreement are BP Egypt (operator 50%) and IEOC, the affiliate of ENI in Egypt (50%).
Andy Inglis, BP's Chief Executive of Exploration & Production, said: "Taurt is another major project delivered successfully. It will contribute to BP's production profile for the next decade and beyond. Egypt is an important growth area with further potential."
Hesham Mekawi, President of BP Egypt added: "Taurt is BP's first subsea development in Egypt and also the first of what we plan to be a programme of subsea developments, its successful delivery represents a new milestone in recovery of gas from the Mediterranean Sea."
The Taurt project is an offshore development with a Subsea Production System (SPS), two subsea wells, and a 70 kilometre pipeline and control umbilical back to upgraded facilities at the existing West Harbor processing plant.

Petrobras start production on deep water field

The Piranema field, 25 km off the coast of Sergipe, started producing oil this Wednesday (10/10), in deep Northeastern Brazil waters. With operations going online in this field, Petrobras is taking another step towards maintaining Brazil’s oil self-sufficiency. The Piranema oil, of excellent quality, at 44º API, is the lightest oil produced in deep waters in Brazil.

ExxonMobil Announces Startup of Marimba North Project Offshore Angola

Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) announced today that its subsidiary, Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15) Limited, has started production from the Marimba North project, designed to develop 80 million barrels of oil in approximately 3,900 feet (1,300 meters) of water more than 90 miles (145 kilometers) off the coast of Angola.
