Expro deliver single lift process module to Galoc FPSO

2008.10.21 - Projects

International oilfield service company Expro has delivered an innovative technological package as part of a successful project to recover oil from a new Asian field.

Expro was awarded a contract by Rubicon to provide a 25,000-barrels-per-day of oil, single lift process module to install on a floating production storage offloading (FPSO) vessel for operation in the Galoc Field, approximately 65km north west of Palawan in the Republic of the Philippines.

Expro’s Production Systems team designed, engineered and supplied the complete process module from its Batam base in Indonesia, with detailed engineering support from the company’s Houston office.

The module was delivered to Singapore for integration into the FPSO vessel, and commissioned with Expro assistance.  First oil from the Galoc field was delivered on October 9.

Expro Production Systems business manager Jeff Pape said: “We are delighted that the successful deployment of our technology has played a part in the recovery of first oil from the Galoc field which will have a significant role in the republic’s oil industry.

“The design and delivery of the process module was an excellent example of Expro personnel in different parts of the world working together as a team to provide an innovative solution to meet the customer’s requirements.”

The single lift module comprises an oil processing system with two stages of separation, inter-stage heating, oil transfer pumps and metering, complemented by a system of hydrocyclones and downstream degasser/skimmer vessel for produced water treatment.  The system is fully packaged with a PLC control and safety shutdown system and designed to handle up to 25,000 bbl/day of oil and 40 MMscfd of associated gas.
