Final diver less subsea mooring connection finished at Neptune

2009.08.25 - Projects

The Neptune DWPP Installation project team has installed 16 suction anchors, 16 chain lengths, two STL Buoys with wires and connected the wires to the chain on the seabed without intervention of divers.

Nine connections have been made up with the APL Subsea Mooring connector and seven connections have been made with H-shackles. This campaign is the first job where the APL Mooring connector has been used and everything has gone well. All the planning, engineering and efforts put into the project prior to going offshore has made this a great success.

The installation vessel, Normand Clipper, is back at our mobilization base in Saint John, NB setting up for the final part of the job where we are going to install risers and umbilical’s between the STL Buoys and the Pipe Line End Manifolds. This job is also going to be performed without intervention of divers.
