Reliance commenced production of gas from the Dhirubhai 1 and 3 discoveries of the KG-D6 block in the Krishna Godavari Basin, located off the East Coast of India, in the Bay of Bengal. At the peak of offshore construction, the largest marine construction spread in the world comprising of 89 vessels was deployed in an area of 400 square km. Full text

Subsequent to its delivery by the Drydock World shipyard in Singapore, the Jascon 25 arrived in NW Australia two weeks ago. After successful sea trials and subsequent mobilization the vessel commenced work on its first major contract offshore for Seastream JV to install the SURF facilities at the Pyrenees Field. Full text

Talisman has commenced oil production from the Northern Fields development on schedule. The development is located in the PM-3 commercial arrangement area offshore Malaysia and Vietnam. Talisman expects to drill a total of 16 development wells in the Northern Fields in 2009, with an additional 13 expected in 2010. Full text

The Alve gas and condensate field in the Norwegian Sea started production yesterday afternoon, 19 March. Alve is developed as a subsea satellite field tied back to the Norne field's production vessel. Alve lies in production licence 159B, about 16 kilometres south-west of Norne. The field embraces the Garn, Not, Ile and Tilje formations. The proven reserves lie in Garn and Not. Full text

Venture Production plc announces successful tie-in of a second production well in the Chestnut field.
Venture is the field operator. This additional well has now been connected to the subsea infrastructure and has increased production from the field to just less than 12,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), net to Venture. Full text

CNOOC Limited announced today the successful start-up of its Panyu (PY) 30-1 gas field. Currently it is producing about 30 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. PY30-1 is located in the Pearl River Mouth basin in Eastern South China Sea, about 240 kilometers southeast of Hong Kong. The average water depth is around 200 meters. Full text

TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA announced today the formation of a cooperation agreement with Petroleum Geo-Services ASA to combine the previously announced and ongoing TGS Hernando 3D survey and the PGS Discovery Desoto Canyon MC3D survey into one large, seamless, 3D multi-client project in the Desoto Canyon in the Central and Eastern Gulf of Mexico Planning areas. Seadrill has taken delivery of the new deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig West Eminence from the Samsung Shipyard in South Korea. The unit will leave Korean waters today en route to its first drilling assignment in Brazil.
