The Sonsub Division of Saipem UK has recently completed the offshore campaign for the Total Frigg Sealines Cessation Plan, resulting in a successful conclusion to the project. The Frigg field straddles the boundary between the Norwegian and UK Continental Shelves in the North Sea, with the project involving the decommissioning of all sealines within a designated 500m zone. NAUTRONIX has completed a project with Subsea 7 for a NASNet® solution to support positioning operations during a pipeline bundle tow out. The project on BP’s Machar field follows on from the successful use of NASNet® by Subsea 7 on a similar bundle tow out operation on TOTAL’s Jura field in 2008. Full text

Gas exports from the Kvitebjørn field in the North Sea started today 27 January, after successful repairs to the rich gas pipeline between the platform and the Kollsnes processing plant near Bergen. The pipeline was repaired by inserting a new section of pipe in the damaged area and connecting it to the pipeline with the help of two Morgrip pipe connectors which seal the coupling. Full text

The Field is expected to produce at a plateau rate of 100 mmcf/d of gas and 6,000 bbls/d of condensate and natural gas liquids from two subsea wells. A third producer, the Rev East well, is expected to be brought on-stream later in 2009. Talisman's share of proved and probable reserves in the Rev Field at year end 2007 is estimated at 26 million boe, with proved reserves of 16 million boe. Full text

Eni has sanctioned two new development projects named Longhorn Phase II and Appaloosa field in the Greater Longhorn Area (US Gulf of Mexico). The Greater Longhorn Area lies in the region of central Mississippi Canyon (MC), approximately 60 miles offshore Louisiana and also includes both the Eni-operated Corral Platform, previously known as Crystal Platform, and the Longhorn field currently under development. The P-51, the first semi-submersible platform built entirely in Brazil, went on stream today (01/24), beginning the production of well MLS-99, in the Marlim Sul field, in the Campos Basin. Installed at a water depth of 1,255 meters and 150 km off the coast of Macaé, the new unit is capable of producing up to 180,000 barrels of oil per day. Full text

Development of the Ettrick field is also nearing completion. The Bluewater FPSO, “Aoka Mizu” is undergoing final preparations in Rotterdam before being transported to location on the Ettrick field in approximately 10 days. First oil production from the Ettrick field development is currently scheduled for early March 2009. Full text

InterMoor has anchored a mobile offshore drilling unit (MODU) and preset anchors for a tender assist drilling (TAD) vessel for Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Ltd. (CABGOC) offshore Angola. Eight mooring anchors were installed at both of the locations. At the Tombua Landana location, installation of the eight SEPLA anchors at a water depth of 1,250 feet. Full text

Today, 15 January 2009, Sakhalin Energy produced first gas from its Lunskoye-A (LUN-A) platform installed in the Lunskoye field 15 kilometres off the north-eastern coast of Sakhalin Island. Gas is now being routed from LUN-A platform through the offshore multiphase pipelines to the Onshore Processing Facility (OPF). Full text
