Development of the Galley field tie-back is progressing, with first production expected in the fourth quarter of 2008. At the Rev development, the temporary floating accommodation unit has returned to the Armada platform and the work to complete the Rev topsides at Armada has restarted. First production is expected in early 2009.

During its 3Q presentation, BP today updated on their subsea projects. In the Gulf of Mexico, BP progressed the commissioning of Thunder Horse with the startup of the second well and announced a discovery in the Freedom prospect in the deepwater. Full text

The Deep Panuke project was confirm by EnCana to be on budget and on schedule to begin producing first gas in late 2010. EnCana now owns substantially all of the Deep Panuke field. Deep Panuke is approximately 250 kilometers southeast of Nova Scotia. Produced gas will be transported by subsea pipeline to Goldboro, N.S. Full text

International oilfield service company Expro has delivered an innovative technological package as part of a successful project to recover oil from a new Asian field. Expro was awarded a contract by Rubicon to provide a 25,000-barrels-per-day of oil, single lift process module to install on a floating production storage offloading (FPSO) vessel for operation in the Galoc Field. Global Energy Ventures (“GEV”) have successfully completed the re-work of the first subsea spool under a contract with CNR International to modify 4 existing subsea jumper spools and construct a new one. Galoc Field has commenced production of oil on 9 October 2008. The development involves the construction of two subsea completed horizontal production wells, with extended reservoir contacts, tied back to a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (“FPSO”) facility via a short seabed pipeline and mid water riser system.
