The subsea templates on the Gjøa field in the North Sea have been installed and are ready for drilling start-up in the middle of November. The offshore operations have been conducted as planned. Five vessels and around 450 workers have been involved in the first installations on Gjøa. Full text

Fairstar Heavy Transport NV has completed the loading of two topside modules this week onto its heavy transport ship Fjord. These two modules have been constructed in Okpo, Korea at the DSME yard. The Fjord will sail from Korea directly to the Tombua Landana field in Angola being developed by Chevron. Full text

Production from the Snøhvit field in the Barents Sea is due to stop on 4 October for a planned 30 days to replace two heat exchangers at the gas liquefaction plant. A number of other heat exchangers of the same type but of varying sizes are also due for inspection during the shutdown in order to monitor their condition. Full text

The North West Shelf Venture’s third major offshore gas production facility, the new Angel Platform,
is now operational and producing gas for processing at its Karratha Gas Plant in Western Australia.
The A$1.6 billion development involved the installation of a new platform and associated
infrastructure, including a 50km subsea pipeline tied back to the existing North Rankin A platform. Full text

Maersk Oil has decided that further improvements on Janice are required and that the Janice production shall be closed in while this activity is ongoing. The Janice shutdown is expected to have a total duration of 2-6 months, the exact time dependent, among others, on weather conditions permitting offshore work. Full text

Shell said today that the D3 well, one of two new subsea wells, is now production on the Draugen Field in the North Sea. The new well in the Garn West formation was placed on production last weekend.

The fourth new North Sea field to be brought onstream by Shell U.K. Limited this year - Curlew C - has achieved production start-up. The Curlew C development marks the first time that Shell has produced hydrocarbons from a chalk formation in the North Sea. Full text

The FPSO Sevan Hummingbird has commenced oil production on Venture's Chestnut field, in the central UK North Sea. The Sevan Hummingbird is based on Sevan's unique and patented technology and is the first cylindrical FPSO to be installed in the North Sea.

Aker Solutions is celebrating production of first oil from Reliance Industries' MA-D6 field, located in the Bay of Bengal offshore India. The record breaking project, which is a 100 per cent Aker field development, produced first oil at 17 September. Full text
