Aminex find more Nyuni gas offshore Tanzania
Aminex PLC (“Aminex”) announces a successful result from the drilling of Kiliwani North -1 (“KN-1”), offshore Tanzania in the Nyuni/East Songo-Songo licence area. Further appraisal drilling will be required to define the extent of this discovery. Full text

Chevron update on subsea projects and exploration
Chevron today said they have approximately 40 major capital projects with a net Chevron investment of $1 billion or more each. The important subsea projects to come onstream in 2008 are Blind Faith in the Gulf of Mexico and Agbami in Nigeria. In 2009, Tombua Landana in Angola, Frade in Brazil and Tahiti in the Gulf of Mexico are expected to come online. Full text
Saipem start subsea pipe-lay to connect Africa with Europe
MEDGAZ, the builder and operater of a new deepwater gas pipeline from Beni Saf, in the Algerian coast, to Almería, in the Spanish coast, has announced that the initial phase of the construction process for the Algerian-European offshore pipeline is due to begin with the arrival of Saipem Castoro Sei, one of the two semi-submersible pipe-lay vessels. Diamond finish up the Basker Manta work and head for Santos
Anzon Australia Limited, today said that the Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. semi-submersible drilling rig Ocean Patriot arrived at the Basker well location. The rig expect to spud Basker-6 well tomorrow and take approximately 40 days to drill and complete the well. Full text
