The Brazilian oil company Petrobras has selected an Aker Kvaerner design for the hull of their new semisubmersible production platform to be located offshore Brazil, at the Marlim Sul deep water field development. Full text
Platform P-54 went online last night (12/11) in the Roncador field, in the Campos Basin. Designed to produce 180,000 barrels per day, at peak production, it will increase that field’s installed capacity to 460,000 barrels per day and make an important contribution to sustaining Brazil’s oil self-sufficiency. Njord is now a gas exporter in addition to being an oil producer. An investment of NOK 1. 2 billion makes extensive gas production feasible up to 2020. In the initial phase of the Njord field's lifetime the oil was recovered through 11 production wells while four injection wells sent the gas back into the reservoir as pressure support. Full text

BP today announced that natural gas production from the Mango field, offshore Trinidad, began on the evening of November 17, 2007. The field, in the South East Galeota Block, was first discovered in 1971 and further appraised in 2000. Full text
Total announces that phase 1 of the Sisi-Nubi gas fields offshore East Kalimantan in Indonesia has come on stream. Lying roughly 25 kilometres from the Mahakam Delta in 60 to 90 metres water depths, the two fields are located in the Total-operated Mahakam and Tengah blocks. Full text
A gigantic development project is complete and the Ormen Lange field is on stream. On Friday 30 November the Ormen Lange operatorship will be formally transferred to Shell, who from 1 December will take over as field operator. Full text
