MEDGAZ, the builder and operater of a new deepwater gas pipeline from Beni Saf, in the Algerian coast, to Almería, in the Spanish coast, has announced that the initial phase of the construction process for the Algerian-European offshore pipeline is due to begin with the arrival of Saipem Castoro Sei, one of the two semi-submersible pipe-lay vessels. Anzon Australia Limited, today said that the Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. semi-submersible drilling rig Ocean Patriot arrived at the Basker well location. The rig expect to spud Basker-6 well tomorrow and take approximately 40 days to drill and complete the well. Full text
