Movevirgo Ltd and Advanced Insulation Systems Ltd introduce new advanced subsea marker

2010.07.23 - Technology

Movevirgo Ltd, who exclusively manufactured Aquasign® subsea markers for 25 years up until 2008, are proud to announce that Advanced Insulation Systems Ltd, one of the world's leading subsea insulation specialists, has signed an exclusive global licence to supply Movevirgo's new advanced subsea marker called C.TAG/®. The agreement will allow Advanced Insulation Systems Ltd to add C.TAG/® to their expanding portfolio of products and to meet the growing demand for subsea markers within the Offshore Oil and Gas industry.

The technology behind the non-toxic, anti-fouling performance of C.TAG/® subsea markers is achieved by the production of a low surface energy face on the marker. This has been backed by a decade of extensive research and development in the base materials, their moulding performance, and the development of a patent-protected manufacturing process owned by Movevirgo's parent company, who licenses the same patent to Champion Environmental Technologies.

C.TAG/® subsea markers can be used for a wide range of subsea applications, including identification, asset tagging, positioning, orientation, lifecycle support, ROV support and AUV support, and can be installed by Advanced Insulation Systems' fully trained team of fitters. The same material used in C.TAG/® is also currently undergoing testing in Norway to incorporate RFID tags for tracking of both subsea assets and the migration of crustaceans around the world.
