Rotaflow based in the High Peak Derbyshire has pioneered a bearing that will help oil companies put their pipes on seabeds as deep as five kilometers-a pressure of around 27,000 psi or 180 times higher than the pressure in a standard water pipe. Rotaflow makes a whole range of swivel joints for the oil and process industry.
Specifically Rotaflow have made 3” swivels for “Choke and Kill” lines at 15,000 psi, with test pressures 22,500 psi and have the capability to make multiple flow joints for subsea applications at working pressures 27,000psi (40,000psi test) or hose reels for the umbilical to reach the sea bed.
