Samson develop DeepCool Technology for deeper subsea lifting

As exploration and production moves into increasingly deeper waters, the challenges of subsea equipment installations, anchor handling, and pipe laying increase proportionately.
As a result lowering and lifting equipment with heavy wire rope is becoming more sophisticated, heavier and more demanding of power. High-performance synthetic ropes are stronger and lighter than wire. This allows handling equipment with a smaller footprint, lighter weight, and reduced power requirements.
Samson has developed DeepCool™ Technology to give its high-performance synthetics significantly increased CBOS-fatigue (cyclic bend over sheave) life for use in lowering/lifting operations that require the use of active heave compensation systems.
DeepCool™ allows engineers to specify handling equipment with a reduced footprint, requires less power to operate and winch lines need to be replaced less frequently in critical deepwater equipment installations.
